Italian courses at the Teacher’s House in Pontremoli

Our Italian courses in Pontremoli offer a great opportunity to learn and stay at your teacher’s house while having all the benefits of staying in Tuscany.

Known as the hidden gem of Tuscany, Pontremoli isn’t a city you hear a lot about but it has many interesting things to do and see.

Translated literally as the “Trembling Bridge”, it’s a little city just 90 kms southwest of Parma. Pontremoli went through an economic growth in the 18th century. So beautiful mansions designed by popular architects and artists will be something that will be of a common and welcomed sight.

A must visit is the oldest part of Pontremoli. Set at the bottom of Piagnaro Hill between both Verde and the river Magra, which historically was a natural defense of the town. For a walk down local history, we definitely suggest a visit of the Museum of Statue of Stele.

And if you wish to get amongst the locals, and enjoy learning and practicing italian when having a relaxing drink aperitif, then we recommend the well-known local bar Luciano in the Piazza del Duomo.

How to get to Pontremoli?

By train, it takes about 1 hour and a half from Parma to Pontremoli. It is on the train line between Parma and La Spezia.
By bus, it takes also about 1 and a half hours and the cost is very affordable.
