Italian courses at the Teacher’s House in Reggio Emilia

Our Italian courses in Reggio Emilia are aimed at anyone wanting to learn, improve or perfect their Italian and experience the true Italian way of life in a relaxed and historical town of about 172,000 inhabitants.

Reggio Emilia is a city situated in the Emilia-Romagna region, in northern Italy. A little off the beaten path, the city rarely gets many tourists so when visitors arrive the locals are friendly and inquisitive.

The Reggio Emilia province’s economy has long been based on agriculture. The region produces world-famous products including the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, the Lambrusco wine, and the balsamic vinegar among many others.

It’s also the place of some clothing industries. As an example, Max Mara’s headquarter is based in the Reggio Emilia.

This city is known for its history. A must visit is the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta with fragments of a Roman floor mosaic.

If you love the arts, be in the centre at the Valli Municipal Theatre and catch the Ballet or the opera live.
If you are fan of natural history, be sure to visit the Civic Museums of Reggio Emilia.

Reggio Emilia is also known for preschool and primary education.
The city is famous for the “Reggio Emilia Approach”,a fascinating pedagogy developed by Loris Malaguzzi and a few parents originating from Reggio Emilia and surrounding. The approach bases itself on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community.
A stay in Reggio Emilia is a great opportunity to visit the The Loris Malaguzzi International Centre which focusses on the Defense and Promotion of the Rights and Potentials of All Children.
